Founded in 1983, Merryvale Vineyards will be celebrating forty years of passionate winemaking this year!

As a small family-owned and operated winery, our vision over the years has always been to preserve our winery’s rich history without compromising our forward-looking plans.

Merryvale’s wines are a reflection of our European heritage blended with the unique climate and terroir of our beautiful Napa Valley. Over the decades, the consistent quality and distinctive style of our wines have always been guided by our core belief that great wines come from amazing vineyards. We are proud to have acquired three top-notch mountain vineyards since our family took full ownership in 1996: The Profile Estate, a 25-acre hillside vineyard overlooking Saint Helena, and two other spectacular vineyards located in the famous Mount Veeder appellation.

We look forward to celebrating our 40th anniversary with you this coming year. We will be hosting some very exciting events to mark this special occasion, see below for full event details.

Join proprietors René and Laurence Schlatter as we celebrate Merryvale Vineyards’ 40th Anniversary with an exceptionally rare opportunity to taste Merryvale’s Profile wines spanning the last four decades! Winemaker, Andrew Wright, has carefully selected wines fit for a once-in-a-lifetime tasting experience including a never before seen commemorative Profile bottling. This curated Profile tasting of the decades will be moderated by the legendary Karen MacNeil, author of the award-winning book, The Wine Bible (now in its third edition). Following this tasting, guests will be treated to a seasonal three-course luncheon catered by the acclaimed “The Girl and the Fig” and paired with selected Merryvale and Profile Collection wines. 2020 Chardonnay, Stanly Ranch Estate, Carneros
The 2020 Stanly Ranch Estate Chardonnay is a stunningly gorgeous example of a New World Chardonnay crafted with an Old World approach. Exotic expressions of guava, lychee, and passionfruit are braced with brilliant acidity and stony minerality.
Food Pairing:  The Stanly Ranch Estate Chardonnay will pair very well with roasted chicken and assorted vegetables.
Ageability:   This wine will evolve over the next 5+ years.
2020 Pinot Noir, Stanly Ranch Estate, Carneros
The 2020 Stanly Ranch Estate Pinot Noir is a stunningly gorgeous example of a New World Pinot crafted with an Old World approach. Aromas of Rainier cherry and rhubarb mingle with baking spices and the freshness of forest floor.
Food Pairing:  Our Stanly Ranch Estate Pinot Noir will pair well with Pan-Seared Duck Breast and an assortment of your favorite roasted root vegetables.
Ageability:   This wine will evolve over the next 10+ years.
2018 Malbec, Napa Valley
Sourced from several stellar vineyards in the Napa Valley, Malbec is an often-overlooked Bordeaux varietal and a somewhat unique wine in Napa Valley. Dark and mysterious with explosions of red and dark fruits on the palate—we think of it as a New World take on an Old World style.
Food Pairing:   Pair this Napa Malbec with Grilled Lamb Chops or a Vegetable Cassoulet with Beans and Spinach.
Ageability:   With proper cellaring, this wine will drink beautifully for the next 5+ years.
2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, Calistoga, Napa Valley
The fruit comes from the Amoenos and Kenefick Vineyards in Calistoga, located on opposite sides of the valley. Each provides their own unique characteristics which gives this wine the complexity you’ve come to enjoy in previous releases.
Food Pairing:   Our Calistoga Cabernet will pair well with Steak Au Poivre and Red Wine Pan Sauce.
Ageability:   Already seven years old and drinking beautifully now, with proper cellaring, this wine will be enjoyable for another 10+ years.

2019 Chardonnay, Carneros
This Chardonnay is the best example of everything we love from the Carneros region.

A Pinot Noir for those who love the classic Carneros New World style from one of the great Carneros Pinot vineyards.
2019 Merlot, Coombsville, Napa Valley
Sourced from this cooler AVA which produces food friendly, high acid wines in the old Napa style.
2017 Chairman’s Selection Red Wine, Napa Valley
A red blend showcasing mountain vineyards and the incredible character that they produce.
