It’s Time to Open The Cellar Again with an Upcoming Release of our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

From Tuesday, September 8th through Thursday, September 10th, we are offering you first access to our 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon as part of the Napa Valley Vintners’ #OpenTheCellar program — this time focusing on the upcoming release of the wine for which Napa Valley is most famous.

Our 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is drawn from top Napa vineyards: Stagecoach, Hardman, Stanton and Greenwood with each vineyard fermented separately in small tanks. Native fermentation started after a 5-day cold soak and reached a peak temperature of 90°F. The wines were pumped over a few times a day until dry and then pressed and drained to barrels where malolactic fermentation occurred. Aged in 50% new medium toast French oak barrels, the wine matures for 22 months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Fresh and vibrant with great mouthfeel and a long finish, this wine is very approachable in its youth. Drinking well now, it exhibits classic Napa Cabernet characteristics with surprising depth. This wine sets the standard for high quality Napa Cabernets and will age beautifully for the next 15 years.

Stay well, stay safe and maybe make things a bit better with a great glass of wine… Cheers!
