An update from the Vineyards…

We’re excited to share the progress we have had thus far on the 2024 season! We’ve completed pruning at all four of our estate vineyards, setting the stage for a promising growing season ahead. Bud break activity is now underway in the vineyards, marking the start of a new growth cycle. Additionally, we’re thrilled to welcome our new team members, the sheep, to Profile Estate! These natural lawnmowers are integral to our sustainable winegrowing practices, helping us maintain vineyard health while minimizing environmental impact.

Moreover, the extra water we’ve been provided by mother nature for the second year in a row will help replenish our vineyards’ water-holding capacity and aquifers. This boost in water availability is expected to result in above-average growth in our vineyards this year. We look forward to the continued development of our vines and the exceptional quality of wines they will produce. Chris Bautista
Our longest-tenured Tasting Room staff member, Chris Bautista, often says, ‘I live where you vacation,’ reflecting his commitment to ensuring every Merryvale visitor has a top-notch experience. Far from boasting, Chris’s attitude is one of genuine hospitality, aimed at providing our members and guests, whether they come from nearby or afar, with nothing short of the best during their time with us. As a native of Napa, Chris values our industry’s importance to the local community and delights in sharing Merryvale’s history. Chris is a devoted family man who loves spending time with his wife and 3-year-old daughter, Lina. In his free time, he enjoys crossword puzzles, art, bike rides, and travel. Join Chris for a tasting where every sip tells a story of tradition, craftsmanship, and Napa’s spirit.

Marissa Gamble & Micah Jones

Originally from California, Micah and Marissa now reside in Massachusetts. Although they are far away, they continue to be a part of the Merryvale Wine Club because it serves as a reminder of home and deepens their wine appreciation.

Ever since their first visit several years ago, Micah and Marissa connected with Merryvale not only for our wines but more importantly, our people. From the first sip of Petit Verdot to their perennial favorite Oakville Grade, Merryvale wines have been an integral part of their lifestyle. Whether it’s grilling steaks at home or a hunting trip in Missouri, you can be sure that they’re surrounded by friends and family and of course, a few bottles of Merryvale.

Near or far, we are grateful for the love and support that Micah, Marissa, and all our devoted members have shown. We look forward to hosting you again for a tasting or one of the many exciting winery events we have planned this year.

2021 Cabernet Franc, Napa Valley
We are privileged to work with some of the best Cabernet Franc fruit in Napa Valley. Ours is a refined, exceptional expression of New World Cabernet Franc with alluring aromatics and dark fruit flavors.
Food Pairing:   Pair this Cabernet Franc with Grilled Sausages with Polenta and Tapenade.
Ageability:   With proper cellaring, this wine will drink beautifully for the next 10+ years.
2017 Oakville Grade Red Wine, Napa Valley
A classic Oakville Bordeaux blend from an elegantly powerful vintage. A complex wine with integrated tannins and incredible depth of character.
Food Pairing:   Enjoy this Cabernet-based red wine with Asian BBQ Lamb Ribs.
Ageability:   With proper cellaring, this wine will drink beautifully for the next 10+ years.
2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, Saint Helena
Drawn from our Profile Estate Vineyard, this wine expresses beauty, balance and complexity. The 2018 season provided long and ideal growing conditions, making this a truly remarkable vintage.
Food Pairing:   Our Saint Helena Cabernet will pair well with Roasted Lamb Shank with Garlic and Rosemary.
