Recommended by Sunset Magazine and the San Francisco Chronicle, Merryvale's unique weekend morning classes are a wine country "must"!

'Wine Component Tasting' Seminar
Your adventure begins with a tour of our historic winery before moving into our renowned 'Cask Room' to focus on wine and its essential components - sugar, alcohol, acid and tannins. Merryvale's acclaimed wines are tasted along with the separate elements to demonstrate how components blend together to create balance. Join us for this fun, informative seminar and map your palate to understand why some wines appeal to you more than others.
Saturdays and Sundays, March through December, from 10:30am until 12:30pm, except for the fourth weekend of the month when we have our Wine & Food Pairing Seminar. $25 per person (Free to Profile Club members!).

'Wine & Food Pairing' Seminar
Intimidated by the idea of pairing the right wine with the right food? This unique seminar is conducted by our Hospitality Staff, and begins with a behind-the-scenes tour of the winery. Taste Merryvale wines and small samples of selected foods while discovering simple guidelines to start you on your own personal journey into the joys of food and wine pairing.
Fourth weekend of the month, March through December, from 10:30am until 12:30pm. $25 per person (Free to Profile Club Members!).

Barrel Tastings
Held quarterly in March, June, September and December (see Calendar of Events for actual dates), these events feature small samples of food pairings and live entertainment throughout the afternoon, in addition to Merryvale's award-winning wines 'thieved' from French oak barrels.
This bona fide wine country experience takes place from 1-4pm in either our working barrel cellar or our historic Cask Room. Winemakers Sean Foster and Graham Wehmeier select the wines focusing on those that are 'accessible' even in their youth. This event also features earlier vintages of the same wine, allowing guests to taste how wine evolves as it matures.
$25 per person (Free for Profile Club members!). No reservations required.
