WINEMAKER'S NOTES
Winemaking
A blend of 99% Sauvignon Blanc and 1% Semillon from our Juliana Estate Vineyard, this wine was whole cluster pressed with some skin contact, and 100% barrel fermented in neutral French Oak barrels. The wine was stirred monthly on the lees for increased texture, and malolactic fermentation was suppressed. We use specific yeast and blend in that 1% Semillon to enhance aromatic expression.

The Wine Our 2011 Juliana Sauv Blanc is the color of pale straw, with a slight green hue. Its aroma has intense notes of grapefruit, lemon, kaffir lime, with more subtle notes of stone fruits, white peach, ripe honeydew, and a faint grassiness. The mouthfeel has a focused entry that leads to a bright, medium bodied mid-palate. This wine is lively and refreshing through the finish, with a clean mineral quality and notes of fresh citrus rind.
