Bright oak toast shows itself early, with lemon and clove opening up in mid-palate; the texture is oily and round, with vanillin and dry peach in the finish. Veal in a cream sauce would be nice.

Merryvale Carneros Chardonnay 2006 -- A creamy and tropical nose with a bit of lemon and spiced pear in behind. The citrus really shows itself on the palate but it's tempered by creamy oak flavours and hazelnuts. It's broad on the palate and a perfect match with grilled seafood.
